Much needed 3 pts secured at New Hawthorn Park

A Sean Robertson hat trick and one from Sean Spoors saw Duns take the spoils in a 4 – 0 victory over visitors Earlston Rhymers at New Hawthorn Park

With 14 minutes on the clock Sean Robertson scored at the near post ending a move that involved slick interchange between Brydon and Sweeney down the left wing with the latter finding Robertson’s feet with the cross.

Duns controlled play for the the remainder of the first half showing how well they can play but failed to add to the score sheet despite a few chances.

Earlston had the better of the ball and the game at the start of the second half but never really troubled Duns veteran Dixon in goal.

The 65th minute brought Robertson his second goal. Some fancy footwork from Burns got him some time and space in the Earlston box and he cut the ball back for Robertson to rifle home from 6 yards.
Sean Spoors sealed the points with a well struck shot from 18 yards with Robertson turning provider this time.

Not to be outdone with a longer range effort Robertson bagged his third and Duns’ fourth in the dying minutes with an unstoppable shot form 20 yrds.

Duns showed a lot of improvement and potential with their third win of the season to secure a much needed 3 points in a match the Dingers needed to win to keep their survival alive.
