Eyemouth United 0-2 Duns

Eyemouth had 65% of this game with nothing to show for it, Sean Robertson stood in for regular keeper Tansey and did not have one save to make. The game started in typical Derby fashion with emotions running high, Lauder opened the scoring for the Dingers with a well struck shot from 20 yards beating the Eyemouth keeper into the top right corner. Some dubious refereeing decisions caused upset with the Fishermen’s coaching staff resulting in one of them being sent off.
Although a local derby play was stuttered towards half time with the score line Eyemouth 0 Duns 1. Again after the restart Eyemouth showed more desire than their visitors although chances were few the Duns defence coped easily with any attacks the home team flung at them. Lee replaced Beasley on the hour with McCoull coming on for Devaney five minutes later. On the 82nd minute Walker was brought down in the box with Lauder converting and increasing his total to 2 for the game. Another dubious decision from the ref resulted in the Dingers being reduced to 10 men after Strangeways received a second yellow which was awarded after the Eyemouth number six pushed him in the back after a tackle, no free kick was awarded with the incident brought to the refs attention observing the players facing each other. A very harsh decision to say the least. Duns played out the last six minutes to record a victory in the first league game of the season, next is a visit tonSpartans on Tuesday 25th then Peebles at home next Saturday.
