Duns Under 15’s 5-1 Hawick Youth

Duns Five Star Performance

Duns 15s had their chance to play their opening SBJFA fixture at the fantastic surroundings of New Hawthorn Park .

Hawick started the game the stronger team with Duns goalie Jordan Patterson seeing more of the ball than he hoped .
Hawick took the after 20 minutes with a well worked goal that split Duns defence.
Duns then started to pass the ball better and created a few good chances with the Hawick keeper in fine form .
With Hutchinson and Todd working well down the left Zak Todd chipped the keeper from a tight angle to make it 1-1.
The second half Duns came out fired up and were soon rewarded when Hutchinson had the ball in space on the left cut inside and took on the Hawick defender and shoot across goal beating the keeper great solo goal.
Duns now had the belief and with some good passing play Duns started to dominate the midfield.
With both wing backs Ross Hutchinson and Toby Atchison pushing forward Duns were creating chance after chance with crosses come from right and left.
With Duns winning a corner Kerian Swinney swung a great ball which Matt Paterson managed to make himself room and finish from 2 yards to make it 3-1
With the lads pushing for more goals Warren Hutton was brought down 30plus yards from goal ,, Hutton set the ball down and struck a fantastic free kick that rattled the back of the net . You will struggle to see a better free kick again this season fantastic effort .
With the defences soild at the back and midfield playing as a unit Duns looked dominant ,,good link up play between Mo Ponton and Hutchinson played a lovely ball through to Hutton who got away from defender and finished nicely to score his second and Duns Fifth .
Fantastic effort from the whole squad.
Thanks to Hawick for good game i am sure they will improve with games.
Many thanks to Duns Fc Committee and Juniors Committee for all there help in making it such a good day at New Hawthorn Park .
