Duns still fighting for survival

Sean Robertson got Duns off to a flying start, from the kick off and a shot coming off the Leithen keeper the ball was placed into the net with 30 seconds on the clock.

Ross Hutchison has scored in the two previous game and was looking to make it 3 out out of 3 with a shot from a narrow angle that hit the post.

With yet another different back three Liam Horne, Kevin Simpson and Liam Demarco had a tremendous game coping with everything that was thrown at them.
With the Dingers getting caught consistently offside no further goals were added.

Rovers started the brighter of the two at the restart but again did not cause any problems for the back three.

Duns were reduced to 10 men with 10 minutes of the second half away.
Striker Sean Robertson was given his marching order after receiving a second yellow for two unnecessary fouls.

Duns coped well with the adjustments they had to make and on 73 minutes Ewan Feeney added a second after The Dingers beat the offside trap with a move down the left and a cross put in by Kieran Swinney saw the ball tapped in at the far post.

Changes were made after the second goal with Bunyan, Watson, Anderson, Short and Ponton on for Horne, Swinney, Hutchison, Feeney and Keenan.

Mo Ponton caused all sorts of problems whenever he was on the ball and Duns certainly finished the stronger and went on to earn a well deserved 3 points which keeps them in the quest for survival.

Thanks must go to head groundsman Chris Burns and his dedicated staff for their maintaInance of the pitch at NHP.
On a glorious sunny day it was certainly looking its best.

Another 3 games next week, away on Tuesday to Earlston and Thursday at Lauder then at home on Saturday to Langholm.
