Duns fall short in Semi Final

Duns travelled to Langholm for the second time in two weeks for the semi final of the Walls Cup.
After a first half of few chances for both sides it was level at half time 0 – 0

A minute into the restart saw Langholm take the lead, the ball rifled in from the left. With the Dingers still smarting from the early set back a second was added.

With a few of the regulars missing and a different set up from their last encounter Duns rallied and had the ball in the net through Kieran Swinney. Duns then went down 3 – 1 and substitution and positional changes were made after Langholm added a 4th, with Sean Robertson starting at the middle of the back three Stuart Anderson replaced Liam Horne taking up a central defending position pushing Robertson forward.

A decision that caused problems for the Langholm defence, Sean Robertson added a second from a free kick after being brought down just outside the box.

Duns continued to press to add further to their total but Langholm stood firm and won after losing to the Dingers in the Waddell Cup.
The lads can be proud of their performance, playing with a few regulars missing they acquitted themselves well.

Duns would like to wish both teams, Langholm and Tweedmouth, all the best in the final.

Duns are back to league duties with the first of 3 games this coming week.Hoping to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Kelso Thistle on Tuesday night.

They visit Tweedmouth Ams on Tuesday night kick off at 6.15pm
