Duns Man of the Match: Gregor Watson

On a scorching day in Kelso, Duns ran out comfortable winners against Kelso Thistle to make it to the semi final of the Wright Cup.

Duns controlled the game from the start. This eventually lead to some good work from Kieran Swinney down the left hand side, just before he made it into the box he was brought down. James Brydon stepped up to take the resulting free kick and curled a sweet strike into the corner of the net.

It was then very much one way traffic. Gary Waddell then pressed the Kelso defence, forcing the them to get caught in possession and dispatched his shot beyond the Kelso keeper.
Sean Robertson soon made it 3 with a delightful volley into the bottom corner.

Early in the second half Duns again control things with Kelso trying to play long with little success. Gregor Watson broke through the Kelso midfield and his deflected shot found the bottom corner of the net.

Against the run for play Duns switched off to let Kelso get a late consolation however it was soon 5 for Duns with Luke Strangeways capping off a dominant performance for the dingers.

5-1 full time.

Duns travel to Gala Hotspur next Saturday in the Semi final of the Wright Cup.
