Burntisland Shipyard 1-1 Duns

Duns gained a thoroughly deserved point at an almost apocalyptic Recreation Park yesterday (Saturday 18th). The match itself was fairly evenly contested until in the games death throws the referee awarded the home side a fairly soft spot kick duly despatched leaving the Dingers about 3 minutes to respond, but respond they did and after some neat inter passing  Steven Burns grabbed an equaliser. Its fair to mention the contribution of captain Gary Renton who with one tackle in particular, he’ll describe it to you in detail if you ask him, kept the home side at bay, but the whole team performed manfully in near tsunami conditions  to end what has been a  somewhat troubled season on the park in many ways.

A special mention to club chairman Clive Brack and committee member Andrew Whitehead who volunteered to be drivers for the day and get behind the wheels of our transport.

The two bus loads of players committee and supporters enjoyed a stop in Edinburgh and Dunbar on the way home to bring the seasons curtain down but with much to do over the summer the work continues……………….
